Based on one of the most popular trainer aircraft ever designed for learning to fly radio controlled (RC) airplanes—the legendary Sport Cub S—its ultra-micro size makes it the ideal choice for a smaller trainer model that can be flown in large yards, parks, soccer fields, and other suitable spaces where larger models can’t typically be flown successfully by first-time pilots. It’s also a scale model of the popular Carbon Cub by CubCrafters, an upgraded and thoroughly modern iteration of the classic Super Cub. Best of all, it’s equipped with Horizon Hobby’s exclusive and innovative SAFE® (Sensor Assisted Flight Envelope) technology that helps to prevent overcontrol, loss of orientation and crashes so nearly everyone can learn to fly successfully! Beginner, Intermediate, and Experienced modes allow you to choose the level of stability and control you need, or are ready to try, at the flip of a switch. Plus you can instantly return to stable flight using Panic Recovery in any flight mode! Learn to Fly Successfully with SAFE Technology
If this is your first RC airplane, Horizon Hobby-exclusive SAFE (Sensor Assisted Flight Envelope) technology prevents over-control and crashes. It also offers multiple flight modes to deliver more control and capabilities as your skills progress at the flip of a switch:
Beginner Mode
In this flight mode, the airplane has pitch (up/down) and bank (left/right) angle limits that prevent over-control which could lead to a loss of orientation and crashes. When the control sticks are released, the airplane automatically returns to level flight allowing you to relax and enjoy simply ‘steering’ the airplane through the sky. Best of all, takeoffs are as simple as giving full throttle and letting the airplane fly off a suitable surface, or by giving it a quick hand launch over surfaces such as grass, and landings are as easy as lowering the throttle and letting it glide to a landing on its own.
Intermediate Mode
This flight mode allows more freedom in pitch and bank, but still prevents significant over-control and the airplane does not return to level flight on its own. This allows you to make tighter turns and to climb and descend faster as your skills advance.
Experienced Mode
In this flight mode there are no pitch or bank angle limits so you have complete control! You can even fly inverted (upside down) and perform aerobatic maneuvers including loops, rolls, stall turns and more.
Panic Recovery
If you lose control of the airplane in the Intermediate or Experienced flight modes, simply activate the Panic Recovery mode with the push of a button and release the control sticks. SAFE technology will automatically return the airplane to level flight.

The origins of the Ford’s GT40 MKIV is marred by tragedy. It began in 1966 with the J-Car just after LeMans. Ken Miles was test driving the car when it crashed on an embankment, bursting into flames. The rest is heavy-hearted history. There were only 10 made, only half of which ever actually raced. However, the MKIV is known for breaking records both at home and abroad. It only ran in two races: the Sebring 12 Hours and the 24 Hours of Le Mans - the most prestigious race events in all of motorsport. It won both.
These victories were no accident. Ford made sure of that. The car was specifically, painstakingly designed for endurance, designed for speed…designed to win. Each element of the MKIV was totally different from other GT40s, starting with where it was made. The first MKlV to race was painted yellow with black stripes and built on the J6 chassis. Race prepared by Shelby American, it was also the first of the MKIVs to be tested at full speed at Daytona before moving on to Sebring. There, drivers Mario Andretti and Bruce McLaren not only won the race, they built the largest lead in Sebring history while breaking speed and distance records that would remain unbroken for years.
The iconic 1967 Le Mans race saw the #2 driven by McLaren and Donohue. Half of the two part Shelby American team, they raced alongside Dan Gurney and A.J. Foyt in the red #1 MKIV. The McLaren / Donohue car clinched the pole position in the Le Mans qualifying but their race took a harrowing turn when the entire rear bodywork flew off the car at over 200mph on the Mulsanne Straight.
Andretti – driving the copper-colored #3 MKIV, lost control when his poorly installed brake pads failed at 3:30AM. Thankfully he walked away unscathed, however the crash left a trail of terror in its wake. McLaren’s #2 MKIV caught some of the debris from the crash that blew off the rear engine bonnet costing the team a detrimental 45 minutes retrieving and refitting the panel. Despite the chaos of the crash along with various clutch issues, McLaren and Donohue fought back and finished strong in fourth place.
This epic Le Mans race on Sunday June 11, 1967 is still considered to be the race of the century and remains the only all-American victory in Le Mans history.
