The Swiss company, Sauber Motorsport, shot off the starting line when it was founded in 1970. After its debut in F1 in 1993, Sauber carved out a name for itself. Not only were they one of the few traditional, privately held teams in the sport, they set standards in the design, development and construction of race cars to this day.

Sauber Motorsport operates and manages the Alfa Romeo F1 Team, conducting full and model-scale testing in the factory’s state-of-the-art wind tunnel providing ground-breaking innovation in the field of aerodynamics. The company’s evolutionary skill and artistry helped earn its induction into the exclusive club of teams to have competed in more than 500 F1 races. In 2022, Sauber Motorsport celebrated 30 years in the sport and continues to dominate both on and off the track.

AFX fans the world over have spent years pining for the latest generation of F1 cars and AFX’s Alfa Romeo F1 Team Collection is well worth the wait. Designed by Russian Zora Arkus-Duntov, the body was patterned after the Mako Shark II designed in 1965. The C3 body would go on to be produced from 1968 through to 1982. Not only was the Corvette one of the coolest looking American sports cars, in its time it was also one of the fastest. Able to run at 140 mph with little to no effort, specific tires were designed to reliably sustain and stabilize the car at such high speeds. In an effort to pack more punch in less space, Chevrolet focused on smaller-displacement engines and in 1970, they introduced the LT-1. A 350 cubic inch engine with factory rated 370 horsepower.
